Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition comes to PC on April 27

Moon Studios have announced that Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition will come to PC via Windows 10 and Steam on April 27.

The action platformer was released on Xbox One and PC last March, and made it onto numerous publications’ game of the year lists. Our guy Mick even gave it a solid 9.5/10 in his review, calling it “A staggeringly beautiful puzzle-platformer that remains a masterpiece despite occasional spikes of difficulty.” The definitive edition will support 21:9 dimensions as well as offering new areas, music, story elements, the additional Light Burst and Dash abilities, and a new Easy difficulty for those who’d like to relac while they play. Ori will be able to warp between Spirit Wells, the game’s save points, making for a more streamlined experience.

“Immediately after the release of Ori and the Blind Forest, we heard cries from fans asking for even more content,” said an unnamed developer from Moon Studios. “Instead of ‘just’ releasing DLC, we decided to craft an entirely new package that includes both the new content as well as features that fans have asked us to add to the original game. We spent almost an entire year on this new release of Ori and the Blind Forest and hope that we have now delivered the ultimate ‘Ori experience’ for all of our fans out there!”

Cross-save between Windows 10 and Xbox One editions will be available, with the Definitive Edition coming bundled with a copy of the original game. Alternatively, those who already own Ori and The Blind Forest on Steam can upgrade to the Definitive Edition for $4.99 (UK price pending).
